Abu Dhabi to Host 46th World Congress on Military Medicine in November

Abu Dhabi is preparing to welcome medical professionals, military healthcare leaders and researchers from around the world for the 46th World Congress of Military Medicine. The international event will take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Organised by the UAE Ministry of Defence in collaboration with ADNEC Group, the congress will bring together participants from more than 120 countries. It aims to encourage international cooperation and share knowledge across military and civilian healthcare sectors.

Global Experts to Discuss Healthcare Innovation

Held under the theme “Ready When Needed. Resilient When Tested,” the congress will focus on strengthening medical readiness and improving healthcare responses during emergencies. More than 2,000 delegates and over 300 speakers are expected to participate, representing more than 40 medical and healthcare disciplines. The programme will include scientific sessions, professional meetings, specialised workshops and an exhibition. These activities will provide opportunities for experts to exchange research, experience and ideas.

Wide Range of Medical Topics on the Agenda

The discussions will cover several important areas, including emergency medicine, trauma care, surgery, mental health, rehabilitation and disaster response. Participants will also explore developments in telemedicine, medical technology, healthcare logistics and humanitarian support. Special sessions will highlight the importance of cooperation between military and civilian medical services. The accompanying exhibition will give visitors an opportunity to learn about new healthcare solutions and innovations.

UAE Strengthens Its Role in Global Medical Cooperation

This will be the first time the World Congress of Military Medicine is hosted in the UAE. The event is held every two years under the supervision of the International Committee of Military Medicine, an organisation established in 1921. By bringing international specialists together, Abu Dhabi aims to support research, professional collaboration and improvements in healthcare preparedness. The congress is also expected to highlight the UAE’s growing role in hosting major international scientific and medical gatherings.
