Padmavati Song Ek Dil Ek Jaan: Presenting Deepika Padukone And Shahid Kapoor's 'Love Ballad'

Ek Dil Hai... Ek Jaan Hai, Dono Tujhpe Kurbaan Hai, are the first few lines of the second song of Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor's forthcoming release Padmavati. The 'love ballad,' as the stars describe the song, titled Ek Dil Ek Jaan, perfectly depicts Rani Padmini (Deepika) and her husband Rawal Ratan Singh's (Shahid) royal love story. Just like the other stunning visuals in Padmavati so far, this song is every bit spectacular - right from the sets, location and the costumes. Ek Dil Ek Jaan opens on Shahid as he looks up to see Deepika smiling at him from a balcony. It tracks Rani Padmini and Ratan Singh's love story from the days of peace to the wars.

Ek Dil Ek Jaanis written by AM Turaz and composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, also the director of Padmavati. Shivam Pathak has lent his voice for the song.

Before Ek Dil Ek Jaan, the first song from the film, titled Ghoomar, was released.

Apart from Deepika and Shahid, Ranveer Singh stars in the pivotal role of Alauddin Khilji, who invaded Chittor fort.

Padmavati marks Deepika and Ranveer's third collaboration with Mr Bhansali, who previously directed the stars in Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Bajirao Mastani (2015).

Padmavati release has been opposed by certain Rajput groups protesting against an alleged 'romantic sequence between Padmavati and Khilji'. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has dismissed these rumours.

Padmavati is scheduled to release on December 1.
