This Man Stabbed His Wife Nine Times To Death Because He Couldn’t Tolerate Her Getting So Many Calls

60-year-old Delhi-based Mukesh Monga would usually drive his wife, Manju, to the boutique she used to work at. She used to be a counsellor at the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW). The security guard at the boutique, Raj Kumar, would see Mukesh drop his wife frequently.

However, this day Manju took longer than usual to step out of the car. Kumar, on approaching the car, saw Mukesh assaulting his wife. “When I stood beside the car, (Mukesh) Monga suddenly started hitting Manju and grabbed her by her hair,” said Kumar, reports the Times of India.

When Kumar intervened, Mukesh drove and parked his car ahead. He reached out for a knife that had been placed under the driver’s seat and started stabbing his wife incessantly. He stabbed her nine times on her throat, eyes and chest which rendered her unconscious as she tried to bang her window for help.

Meanwhile, Kumar threw a stone at the car to stop Mukesh but the latter remained undeterred as the stone slipped down the bonnet leaving him unaffected. Also, Mukesh was inebriated and as the police have stated that he is an alcoholic. Moreover, they suspect this to be a planned murder.

Mukesh started driving again to avoid Kumar who was shouting thereby raising an alarm while Manju bled excessively. Fortunately, Kumar’s alarm had caught the attention of a police patrol vehicle that had been passing by. They then followed Mukesh’s car and apprehended him.

Mukesh tried to run but was caught by the police, along with the knife that he had used to kill his wife. The police then found that he was inebriated too. The report suggests that he is an alcoholic.

Why did he do it?

As he told the cops, Mukesh suspected his wife of having an affair which pushed him to take the extreme measure. Phone calls from the NGO that she had been associated with and her clients had caused him to suspect her. They recovered knife sharping tools from the car’s trunk as well. The police have booked him under section 302 of the IPC.

Although Manju was taken to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival.

It’s weird to face such things from people you think you can trust.
