Released French Red Cross worker arrives safely in Oman

An International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) worker who was taken hostage in Yemen arrived safely in Muscat late Monday following her release. According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Nuran Hawass, the French national was released due to the sincere efforts of the Oman government on a special request from its counterpart in Paris.
Nuran was detained in Yemen while she was heading to her job in Sana’a on December 2015, an act which was strongly condemned by Women Journalists Without Chains (WJWC) in August this year.
