One dead, three injured in accident near Kashmere Gate ISBT

A man sleeping on a footpath was killed and three others were critically injured after they were mowed down by a speeding I 20 car near Kashmere Gate ISBT on Thursday morning.

Police say that the incident was reported around 5.45am. The car was being driven by a teenager who had lost control of the vehicle and climbed on the footpath. Cops are verifying the age of the teenager and whether he was inebriated at the time of the incident.
Eyewitnesses have told the cops that the car drove zigzag on the Ring Road before climbing onto the footpath.

 

During interrogation, the teenager claimed to be a student of a well known school in south Delhi and had recently appeared for the board exams. Cops have informed his family members about the incident and seized the vehicle.
The identity of the deceased are yet to be verified. The injured men have been admitted to the Sushruta Trauma Centre near Civil Lines.
