Pakistan denies links to terror attacks on Indian troops

The Pakistani defence minister said Pakistan a peaceful country that fights terror activities.

Pakistan on Sunday denied any links with the recent terror attack in India where more than 40 troops died.

Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack.

Some international media organisations and governments had linked the Pakistan government to these attacks, which it has strongly denied.

In an exclusive interview with Khaleej Times on the sidelines of the International Defence Exhibition (Idex) in Abu Dhabi, Pakistani defence minister Pervez Khan Khattak said Pakistan is a peaceful country that fights terror activities and that the Pakistan government strongly rejects allegations from the media and the international community that links Pakistan to the attacks on the Indian troops.

"Pakistani doesn't have anything to do with the recent attacks and we strongly reject allegations that Pakistan had any involvement in this," said Khattak. "We also have had many attacks in Pakistan by terrorists and we can't attribute it to any nation."

"Pakistani is a peaceful country that fights terrorism in the region and world over. We want peace in the region and all over the world."

The defence minister said Pakistani was participating in Idex to showcase their latest technologies in the field of defence including heavy military tanks, software defined radio systems and other equipment.
