Pakistani victim's mother gets heart attack the same night he died in UAE villa fire

Two of the victims had recently gotten married.

The bodies of six Pakistani expats, who died in a tragic villa fire in UAE, were repatriated on Monday morning.

Hundreds of residents attended their funeral prayers on Sunday.

One of the victim's (Omar) friend, Nasir Kabir Khan, said it was very painful to break the tragic news to the victims' family members who are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.

"In fact we found out that Omer and Khurram's (two of the victims) mother had a heart attack on Friday night and she was already admitted in the hospital when the accident happened here," said Khan.

According to him, some of the relatives learnt of the tragedy from through social media and were trying to contact their friends and family in the UAE.

"I even told some guys - to downplay the story - that the news was fake, but for how long can we hide the truth? Now, everyone including their mother and Omer and Khurram's wives know."

Both the brothers got married six months ago in Pakistan.

A relative has already flown to Pakistan to make burial arrangements - he will be receiving four bodies, who died in the fire.

"The other two victims hail from different cities, and their bodies will be collected by their family members," said Khan.
