Possibilities Of Large Electronic Devices Getting Banned From Check-In Luggage

A laptop ban, similar to the US laptop ban, is expected to come into effect in India after a mobile phone burst into flames on a Delhi-Indore flight recently. Reportedly, laptops could be disallowed from check-in bags as their battery go undetected in security leading to unforeseen consequences. The cabin crew is also receiving training on how to handle fires caused by personal electronics.

International aviation agencies are contemplating their options to put a ban on large electronic devices from check-in bags, it seems that India will follow suit, as per a senior DGCA official. As of now, power banks, portable mobile chargers, and e-cigarettes are already banned
