South Korea Conducted Live-Fire Missile Drill On North Korea

A missile drill was conducted by South Korea simulating an attack on North Korea’s nuclear site as a response to the sixth test conducted by Pyongyang, where a live-fire exercise drill launched rockets from fighter jets and on-ground missiles.

The US defense chief James Mattis had warned Pyongyang earlier stating that any threat directed towards the US or its allies will be responded to with a massive military action. As per the North, it was testing a hydrogen bomb in which a long-range missile can be fitted.

With repeated violations and continuous denial of UN sanctions and international pressure, Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons development and missiles testing has only intensified with each provocation. The North Korean leader has been conducting missile tests for the last two months and sent one of the missiles into the Pacific Ocean flying over mainland Japan. The US Pacific territory of Guam is also under threat of a ballistic missile attack from the North.

An emergency meeting is called by the UN Security Council on Monday to discuss the plan of action.
