US President Donald Trump has looked for Pakistan's assistance with Afghan harmony talks in a letter to PM Imran Khan, the South Asian country's data serve, Fawad Chaudhry, said on Monday. 

Trump needs to end a 17-year-old war between Afghan security powers and the Afghan Taleban militants, who are battling to drive out global powers and set up their variant of strict law. 

US authorities have for some time been pushing Pakistan to lean on the Taleban leadership, which Washington says is situated in the nation, to convey them to the arranging table. 

"President Trump has composed a letter," Chaudhry told Reuters. "He has requested Pakistan's collaboration to bring the Taleban into talks." 

Trump disclosed to Khan the Pakistan relationship was important to the United States and to finding an answer for the Afghanistan struggle, Chaudhry included. 

The US consulate in Islamabad had no quick remark on the letter. 

A month ago, Trump said in a meeting Pakistan doesn't "complete a damn thing" for the United States regardless of billions of dollars in US help, including that Pakistani authorities knew about previous Al Qaeda pioneer Osama receptacle Laden's area before his killing by US troops in a 2011 assault inside Pakistan. 

A week ago, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said he had framed a 12-in number group to arrange harmony with the Taleban, however cautioned that usage of any arrangement would take something like five years.
