TV anchor reads out breaking news of husband’s death

An anchor of a private TV channel in India faced the unfortunate situation to read out the breaking news of the death of her husband in a road accident, reports Hindustan Times.

Surpreet Kaur was anchoring the morning news of Chhattisgarh’s private IBC-24 channel on Saturday when a reporter phoned in with details of a fatal accident.

The reporter said three of the five people travelling in a Renault Duster were killed at Pithara in Mahasamund district earlier. Kaur’s husband Harsad Kawade was expected to travel along the same route in a Duster and that was enough for her to instant realise it could be her husband. However, she managed to hold herself together during the newscast and broke down only after walking out of the studio, the report says.
