A media report on Monday claims that a man in Pakistan’s Punjab province decapitated his wife, Nasreen (37 years old) for not quitting her job.
Mother of three, Nasreen was a resident of Shamke Bhattian. According to the police, she was found dead on Sunday 41 kilometers from Lahore in her house in Manga Mandi. Her children and neighbors were the first to find her dead body.
Maher Mumtaz, Superintendent of Police Saddar Division said that the initial stage of investigation has led to believe that her husband Afraheem had killed her for the sake of protecting his honor. She used to work as a laborer in a factory in Raiwind area which her husband did not like. He insisted that she quit but she refused, so he killed her.
Nasreen’s children told the officials that their mother was asleep when their father attacked her with a chopper. After he left, the children hailed the neighbors help and opened the door to find their mother’s head severed.
According to the officials, the husband has still not been found.
