Shilpa Rao Shares Video After Mic Cut-Off at Bollywood Music Project

Singer Shilpa Rao has shared a video from her recent performance at Mumbai’s Bollywood Music Project after technical problems disrupted her set. Posted on October 28, the clip captures her singing “Khuda Jaane” from the 2008 film Bachna Ae Haseeno, with the audience joining in. Alongside the video, she wrote, “I sing for you with all my heart...and that’s all that matters.” Her post offered fans a glimpse of the musical moment despite the controversy surrounding the event.

Microphone Problems Disrupt Mumbai Performance

The incident took place on October 24 during the 10th-anniversary edition of the Bollywood Music Project. Rao’s performance was affected by microphone issues from the beginning, with a replacement reportedly facing similar difficulties. During her set, the microphone was switched off while she was performing, leaving her visibly surprised. The situation became more uncomfortable when another act began on a nearby stage before she had a proper opportunity to conclude her performance.

Shilpa Rao Thanks Fans for Their Support

Following the show, Rao shared an emotional message expressing her disappointment over how the evening ended. She thanked the Mumbai audience for continuing to cheer for her even after the music stopped and said the experience had left her heartbroken. She also promised to return to the city, acknowledging the connection she felt with the crowd. Her latest video further highlighted the audience’s enthusiasm, with fans singing along as she performed.

Fans React to Singer’s Concert Video

Rao’s post has renewed discussion about the interrupted performance, with fans expressing support for the singer and praising her response. Her husband, Ritesh Krishnan, had also voiced disappointment over the incident. The festival organisers subsequently apologised for the abrupt ending, citing scheduling delays and venue restrictions. The episode has raised wider questions about event coordination and the importance of allowing performers to finish their sets and acknowledge their audiences respectfully.
