ROX Marks Major UAE Manufacturing Milestone
ROX has delivered its first batch of 100 vehicles manufactured in the United Arab Emirates, marking an important development for the country's automotive sector. The vehicles carry the “Made in the Emirates” mark and form part of the company's UAE Signature Edition. Production took place at ROX's AI Manufacturing Centre in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). The milestone reflects the company's efforts to establish local manufacturing operations. It also supports the UAE's wider ambition to expand its advanced industrial capabilities.
Partnership Supports Local Vehicle Production
The first 100 vehicles were produced through cooperation between ROX, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). The project is supported by the government's Make it in the Emirates initiative. The partnership aims to encourage industrial investment and strengthen domestic production. Abu Dhabi's infrastructure, logistics network and business environment have helped support the company's manufacturing expansion. The initiative also aims to develop local expertise and strengthen supply chains.
Facility Combines Manufacturing, AI and Design
ROX established its Abu Dhabi facility in six months, bringing several advanced capabilities together under one roof. The centre includes a manufacturing facility, an artificial intelligence laboratory and a dedicated design studio. This combination is intended to support vehicle production while encouraging the use of modern technology and design capabilities. The UAE Signature Edition vehicles are luxury SUVs made through a numbered production process for regional market requirements. Each vehicle carries the national manufacturing mark on its bodywork.
UAE Looks to Expand Its Automotive Industry
The delivery represents a step towards building a stronger automotive manufacturing ecosystem in the UAE. ROX plans to continue developing its local operations, expanding production capabilities and strengthening partnerships across the supply chain. The project also aligns with the country's National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, known as Operation 300bn. The strategy aims to increase the industrial sector's contribution to the national economy and improve competitiveness. Further development of the facility could support ROX's plans to serve markets across the region.
