Angel’s love life has been always tainted with controversy. Aside from Phil Younghusband and currently, Luis Manzano, she earlier had unsuccessful relationships.

When Angel was having her humble beginnings at GMA-7 in 2003, she fell in love with her co-star Miko Sotto, son of Vic Sotto’s brother Maru. But their relationship came to an end after six months, when Miko accidentally fell from his 9^th floor condominium unit, causing his death. After more than a year, Angel and Miko’s cousin Oyo Boy Sotto became the new love team. The two had only a year before calling it quits, due to “lack of time” for each other.
