Best Fitness Hack: Visualize The Final Result To Achieve Weight Loss

If you are someone who is not naturally very active, dragging yourself out of bed in the morning to hit the gym will be like going to office on a Monday after a long festive weekend. And, in some cases, even after working you don't see the results.

The best thing to do is to visualize exercise. Research suggests that imagining achieving an exercise goal can achieve good results. Another study by Erin M. Shackell and Lionel G. Standing at Bishop's University says that you may be able to make nearly identical gains in strength and fitness without lifting a finger.

In this study, they made three groups. The first group did only their usual routine chores. Second group was put through two weeks of highly focused strength training for one specific muscle, three times a week. The third group listened to audio CDs that guided them to imagine themselves going through the same workout as the exercising group, three times a week.

First group saw no improvement. Second group saw a 28% gain in strength. The third group saw the same gains in strength as the exercise group (24%). Tell yourself before hitting the bed and while waking up that gymming is very important to you. Nothing works like self talk. Imagine getting into your old jeans that has been lying in your wardrobe for years. And, then remind yourself of the target weight you have to reach.

Rhonda Byrne also writes about the power of thoughts in weight loss in her book 'The Secret': "The first thing to know is that if you focus on losing weight, you will attract back having to lose more weight, so get "having to lose weight" out of your mind. It's the very reason why diets don't work." "The second thing to know is that the condition of being overweight was created through you thought about it. To put in the most basic terms, if someone is overweight, it came from thinking "fat thoughts", whether that person was aware of it or not. A person cannot think "thin thoughts" and be fat. It completely defies the Law of Attraction."
