In most of the times, when some person gets burned, you have to find a quick way to soothe the pain, in order to prevent some further damages. When you find yourself wondering in situations like this, there are some helpful treatments which you can use. So, here they are:
1. Mint toothpaste
You should always keep some minty toothpaste in your kitchen, as it can help you in relieving a minor burn. If you get burned, first run the area under cold water and then dry it with a paper towel. After that, you should cover it with a layer from the toothpaste.
2. You should not use ice on burns
Even if it seems like the ice can help you in such situations, it is actually the opposite. The ice can actually do more damage than it can help you. It may restrict the blood flow to the skin. Instead of using ice, you can immediately run the burned area under cool water and keep it that way for about 20 minutes. Aloe may also be helpful in this situation, as it can stop the pain and inflammation. Aloe is actually the best known home treatment for burns.
3. Vanilla
The extract from vanilla can be used for minor burns. You should put it gently onto the burned skin by using a cotton swab. Due to the evaporation of alcohol in the extract of vanilla, the pain will be cooled.
4. Vinegar
The acetic acid in vinegar is very helpful in relieving the pain, itching and inflammation of burn. The vinegar also acts as an antiseptic and astringent, and that is actually good for stopping the burn to get infected. You can soak some paper towels in diluted vinegar or you apply it by using a cotton swab.
5. Honey
Honey is another cure which is helpful in stopping the burn from getting infected. It is a natural antibiotic which is also used for treating sore throat. Honey also contains pH balance, so you may use it for killing bacteria, as the pH balance is unwelcoming to bacteria.
