If public health data from prime research centres in our country are to be believed, number of heart diseases in India will surpass that in any other country by the year 2020. It is slowly reaching an epidemic proportion in India. However, there is still a lack of awareness and many misconceptions regarding heart ailments. Since almost everyone is prone to this, it is important to take preventive action as a society, for which knowledge and awareness is very important.
