Ramadan 2018 likely to fall on May 17: Kuwaiti astronomer

The holy month of Ramadan is expected to fall on Thursday, May 17 in Kuwait, said an astronomer on Sunday.

The crescent might not be visible in Kuwait and could only be seen through telescope, while the inhabitants of the Arab Maghreb (western Arab world) will be able to see the crescent clearly, Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) quoted astronomer Adel Al Saadoun as saying.

Muslims observe fasting in Ramadan from dawn to dusk, in line with the Islamic doctrine. During the fast, the body rejuvenates itself and helps to detoxify by removing toxins from stomach, intestines and also boosts our immune system.

With the scorching summer heat and a daily fasting period of about 15 hours, adapting to the changes in eating habits and daily routine might affect different people in different ways.
