FM responds to MP’s queries about KFAED loans to Philippines

Furthermore, Minister of Health Dr Bassil Al-Sabah denied the alleged delay in the implementation the design, construction and furnishing phases of the new Sabah Hospital project. Responding to the questions of MP Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Shiekh Bassil revealed the contractor determines the progress of the project every month.

 

He said 38.77 percent of the project has been completed as of Feb 28, 2018 and the remaining work is 61.23 percent until the initial handover scheduled for March 31, 2019. He added the contract value is KD 178,989,995 and it was signed on April 27, 2014.

Commenting on the report that the project will be completed by the end of July 2019, the minister pointed out there might be a delay in the design phase due to the additional section requested by the Amiri Diwan. He reiterated that there was no delay until the end of February, disclosing the rate of expenditure for the project is 43 percent as of April 8, 2018 and the amount paid for the contract as of Jan 25, 2018 reached KD 64,769,582.385.
