Some traffic violations can be fined, but hre are some types of violations which may leads to imprisonment in Qatar.
1. Driving without license and the license which foud illegal in terms of classification of vehicles leads to minimum imprisoment of 1 month; maximum imprisonment of three years. Else, he has to pay the penalty of QR 10000 to QR 15000. If the same violation repeats in the future, minimum imprisonment of a week to 3 years and minimum penalty of QR 20000 to QR 50000 with three black points on the license.
2. Giving a vehicle to someone who doesn't have a valid driving license or any other permit required for traffic laws. The punishment is minimum 1 month to 3 years of imprisonment, or penalty of minimum QR 10000 to QR 50000. The same mistake repeats, the penalty will get doubled with two black points on the license.
