3. Jean-Claude Van Damme
The story of Jean-Claude Van Damme‘s fight with celebrity bodyguard Chuck Zito, is a bit of he said/she said, but most people who’ve been asked tend to corroborate Zito’s account of the events. The tale goes as follows: Van Damme and Mickey Rourke went to a strip bar one night. At the bar, they ran into Zito. Zito had been a bodyguard for both actors at some point. He also claimed that he and Van Damme did not get along all that well. Either way, Zito went and sat with them and had a drink. Later, one of the bouncers told Zito that he overheard Van Damme talking smack about the bodyguard. Zito then confronted him and Van Damme admitted that this was true. This is Zito’s account of what happened next. “I hit him–twice. A straight right and a left hook. Bam-bam!” Zito said. “Jean-Claude’s chair flipped over backward, and he landed in the lap of my friend Kevin Lubic… I started hitting him with everything I had. Jean-Claude barely even tried to fight back. He just tried to shield himself. When he covered his head, I hit him in the body. When he covered his body, I hit him in the face. It went on like that for about thirty seconds until the bouncers jumped in, Mickey jumped in, and all my buddies jumped in and pulled me off of Jean-Claude. He was tossed out of the club and I left on my own—quickly—before the police arrived.”
