15 Sweetheart Celebs Who Are Mean In Real Life

12. Hilary Duff – Insensitive Dresser

We just survived another Halloween. Hopefully, you didn’t get your pumpkin smashed, get too drunk, or eat too much candy. And hopefully, you had a good costume that didn’t offend anyone. The problem is, nowadays, it seems like somebody will be offended by nearly anything. Even Halloween candy is under fire. There’s a movement called the “teal pumpkin” designed to protect kids with allergies. Just paint your jack-o-lantern greenish blue so that everybody knows your house is giving out stickers instead of candy. This has surely offended the peanut lovers of the world. Meanwhile, with costumes, race is always an issue. Remember when Julianna Hough wore blackface as an OITNB inmate? Well, Hilary got in some trouble too. She went as a pants-less pilgrim while her boyfriend, at the time, dressed as a Native American chief. This was during the whole North Dakota Pipeline fiasco too. Needless to say, Twitter freaked out, and Duff was labeled as a racist.

11. Taylor Swift – Zero Sense Of Humor

Taylor Swift has millions of dollars, tons of fans, platinum records galore, and a thousand boyfriends, but she does lack something. That would be a sense of humor. The pop princess couldn’t take a joke when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler commented about her at the Golden Globes. Fey told her to “stay away from Michael J Fox’s son.” Taylor reacted by quoting Katie Couric saying, “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.” Whoa! That’s a catty reaction, right? It’s just a joke, Tay. And you’re pointing at the wrong people. Fey and Poehler are not even close to burning bridges for women in Hollywood, they’re actually building them. Fey has written several powerful female leads for TV and film. Poehler is an outspoken feminist with comments like, “The topic of feminism is another example of people co-opting it, taking it out of our hands and we have to take it back.” Sounds like Taylor was getting nasty for no reason. Or maybe she actually did have a crush on Fox Jr., and the comics totally ruined her chances.

10. Drew Barrymore – Don’t Mention Her Past

Drew went through some rough years after the whole child star thing. She got super drunk since like 5th grade and then took her clothes off for Hefner. But, those days are long gone now, and don’t even try to ask her about it or else she’ll bite your head off. “You should have heard this b*tch I had to do an interview with before you,” she told a London reporter, “God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing.” Yikes! Real friendly, that one. Another topic you shouldn’t mention is feminism. “I was raised in a generation where women thought that they could have it all, and I don’t think you can.” She said, “I think that some things fall off the table. You choose your battles. I just couldn’t direct a movie right now. I would miss out on too much with my daughter. And it was heartbreaking to realize that, because I worked so hard to get to a point where I could direct, but it was a clear choice.” What? You don’t want to work? Many feminists were offended by the comment and instantly labeled her as a jerk.
