4. Starfish Prime
Starfish prime was one of the dangerous high altitude nuclear bomb test organised by the United States in July 1962. Starfish Prime bomb test polluted the atmosphere of the region & the effects extended to thousands of kilometers. Considering the bad atmospheric effects the Soviet Union called for a ban on nuclear bomb tests of any weapon in 1958. Though people say that the Starfish blast was spectacular but there were various invisible effects which they faced afterwards as in Hawaii alone 300 street lights failed, TVs & Radios malfunctioned, burglar alarms went off, several power lines fused. Moreover, in low earth orbit, 3 satellites were immediately disabled after the blast. The overall impact even shocked scientists & engineers as they had expected something much smaller than that.
