The mystery: In 80s, a story came out that the Matinee idol Richard Gomez is a paid lover of Jaime Zobel de Ayala. During one of their rumored sexual intercourse, Zobel’s peculiar sexual behavior led him to insert a light bulb inside Gomez’s behind. The climax? The light bulb broke inside Gomez and he had to be rushed to the emergency room.

  1. Pepsi Paloma Case

The mystery: When she was 14 years old, Paloma met the three comedian hosts of the noontime show Eat Bulaga – Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and Richie D’ Horsey or Richie Reyes. While promoting her movie, Paloma ‘claimed’ that she was allegedly raped by the three after being forced to go with them in a hotel.

Paloma consulted Atty. Rene Cayetano for a pro bono service after the incident. But Senator Tito Sotto immediately sought Paloma and “coerced” her to sign the Affidavit of Desistance he has as a legitimate document showing Paloma’s permission to drop the rape complaint she first filed against the three comedians. The issue went famous again when the Eraserheads released their “Spolarium”. In its lyrics, the band sang the alleged story of Pepsi’s tragedy.

And in 1985, the 17 year-old Paloma was found hanging in her closet with a three inch thick sash tied around her neck.

The answer: According to the report of investigators, Paloma committed suicide because of financial difficulty she was experiencing, her isolation from her mother and her unhealthy relationship with her live-in partner, that eventually led to her depression, causing her to commit suicide.
