13. Robin Thicke – Alan Thicke (More Successful)
In the ‘80s, Alan Thicke became a major television star and was known all over the world. He was best known for his portrayal of Jason Seaver in the sitcom Growing Pains, which aired from September of 1985 to April of 1992. He also hosted several game shows, including First Impressions, Pictionary, and All New 3’s a Crowd. He also hosted his very own talk show, The Alan Thicke Show. His son, Robin Thicke, is a world-famous recording artist. Robin had his big breakthrough with the single “Blurred Lines.” He’s worked with several top artists, including Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, and Christina Aguilera. He’s released several popular albums, such as A Beautiful World, Something Else, and Blurred Lines. His marriage and divorce from Paula Patton gained a great deal of media coverage. Sadly, his father, Alan, passed away on December 13, 2016.
12. Chet Hanks – Tom Hanks (Disappointment)
Tom Hanks is one of the most cherished actors in Hollywood. Hanks won two consecutive Academy Awards for performances in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump in 1994 and 1995, respectively. He has also starred in numerous beloved films, such as Big, Sleepless in Seattle, and Saving Private Ryan. Hanks casts a very large shadow, and his children might find it difficult to live up to his reputation. His son, Chet Hanks, was once an aspiring rapper that went by the name Chet Haze. He created controversy when he trashed a London hotel. He also got into a Twitter feud with Howard Stern. Additionally, he struggled with addiction and substance abuse. He said, “A couple months ago, I was selling coke, doing coke until I couldn’t even snort it up my nose anymore because it was so clogged.” Chet entered rehab and cleaned himself up, which made his father very proud.
11. Gigi & Bella Hadid – Yolanda Hadid (More Successful)
Gigi and Bella Hadid are quickly becoming two of the most popular and in-demand models. They’ve walked the runways for all the top designers and have appeared on the cover of every major magazine. They’re considered two of the most beautiful models and both have a huge following on social media. However, years before Gigi and Bella were tearing up the runway, their mother was doing it first. Yolanda Hadid was discovered by Eileen Ford and signed with Ford Models. She modeled all over the world. Currently, she is a cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Gigi and Bella have both surpassed their mother’s fame. They have individual careers but have also worked together. Gigi won Daily Front Row’s Model of the Year in 2015, and Bella won the same award the following year. They’ve walked the runway for Versace, Chanel, and appeared in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
10. Jaycee Chan – Jackie Chan (Disappointment)
Jackie Chan is an international phenomenon and household name. There isn’t a person who doesn’t know the innovative martial artist that has made a major impact in Hollywood. He had his big break with the 1978 film Drunken Master. He’s also starred in several popular films, including Rumble in the Bronx, Rush Hour, and The Forbidden Kingdom. In 2009, the Chinese government named him an anti-drug ambassador. He participated in several anti-drug campaigns and believed that users should be punished severely. His son, Jaycee Chan, initially embarked on a singing career but that got sidetracked. In 2014, Jaycee was arrested for allowing guests to smoke marijuana in his apartment. He served six months in prison and apologized for his mistake. Jackie was “heartbroken” and “ashamed” of his son at that time. He refused to help his son get a lighter sentence and hoped that other kids would learn from Jaycee.
