Angelina Jolie is not one to shy away from making a bold statement on the red carpet (remember her 2012 Versace leg moment?), but it’s the actress’s off-duty style that best conjures old Hollywood sirens. Jolie’s everyday ensembles pack the same punch as her premiere duds, but with a quieter polish. This was reinforced over the weekend in Los Feliz, where Jolie, on a grocery run for her family, stepped out in what has become her signature style move: a robe silhouette dress paired with simple heels.
Jolie has often gravitated toward the coatdress: the optic white Bottega Veneta she wore in London with her kids, the structured black coat she wore this summer with knee boots, and most recently, the Elisabetta Franchi coat she chose for the First They Killed My Father after-party. This latest version, in Jolie-friendly black with a discreet slit, played off the runway’s recent bedroom dressing trend and proved that a supermarket trip can be just as soigné as a stroll down the red carpet.
