Juhi Chawla hails ‘Delhi Supreme Court’ for firecracker ban, Twitter gives her a GK lesson

Actor Juhi Chawla’s latest tweet on the firecracker ban has cracked up the internet. It all began when she hailed “Delhi Supreme Court" for the judgement.

On November 11 last year, the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of suspension of all licences “permitting sale of fireworks, wholesale and retail, within the territory of NCR”. On September 12 this year, the ban was temporarily relaxed, as the SC felt it would be an “extreme step” and a “graded approach” was needed to tackle pollution. The Supreme Court, last week, banned the sale of crackers in the Delhi-NCR until November 1

Hailing the firecracker ban in the national capital, Juhi wrote on Twitter, “Brilliant move by Delhi supreme Court, firecrackers banned till November 1! Celebrate this Diwali with Diyas & love.”

In no time, Twitterati was all over Juhi’s case. “By the way Juhi whether the “ Mumbai Supreme Court “ banned the firecrackers or not,” wrote one user.

Juhi isn’t the first one to be in the line of fire. While Alia Bhatt has become the mascot of goof ups in the industry, despite a very witty comeback (AIB video), others like Ameesha Patel, Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma have erred in the past while tweeting.

Juhi Chawla was last seen in Chalk N Duster along with Shabana Azmi. She is likely to appear in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s film with Aanad L Rai, where SRK plays a dwarf.
