Deepika Padukone’s look of Rani Padmini in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati is gaining more and more traction as the film’s posters and the song Ghoomar makes its rounds on the internet. Deepika has received much praise for her regal look in the film, and currently is the queen to beat. And Bollywood’s Queen Kangana Ranaut, who is next in line to portray a character of another real life queen, Rani Laxmibai, is getting insecure about Rani Padmini’s growing fanfare, as per new reports.

Only recently was Kangana’s look from Marnikarnika was “leaked”, and as it seems, it was more than just a leak. As per sources, Kangana is fearful of the massive attention Deepika is getting for her look, which was the reason behind the apparent ‘leaks’ from the sets of the film. A trade source informs an agency, “How else can you explain the multiple pictures of Kangana in a queen’s avatar being ‘leaked’ from the sets on a daily basis? Kangana may be feeling anxious, but it is too early for her pictures to come out much before the release of the film. She may well want to piggyback on Deepika’s queen visuals coming out, but this is more of a knee-jerk reaction.”
It remains to be seen which of the two gets more love from the audiences, since ultimately performance remains the king. Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati, which also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, releases on December 1 this year.
