Padmavati: The mystery of Ghoomar’s unknown woman solved. This is who she is

When the video for Ghoomar, the first song from Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh-starrer Padmavati was released, many were left with one nagging question: Who is the other woman?

She appeared for a brief moment, roughly halfway into the 3-minute video. She sat on a balcony, watching Deepika perform on the floor below. But her sudden appearance left many wondering who she is.

And now the mystery has been solved. According to a Twitter fanpage of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions, the woman is Shahid Kapoor’s character, Maharawal Ratan Singh’s first wife, Nagmati. She’s played by relative newcomer Anupriya Goenka. Her IMDb page confirms this information.

Anupriya previously appeared in a controversial Myntra ad, and in a small role in Varun Dhawan and John Abraham’s Dishoom.

Padmavati is all set to be unveiled on December 1. The film has been through a rough production, with several fringe groups violently lashing out on several occasions.
