‘Kuwaiti women drink more than men’

A new study revealed that Kuwait’s women drink coffee more than men, while 34 percent of the women usually read the nutritional information in coffee products compared to 30 percent among men, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Food Sciences and Nutrition Professor at the College of Life Sciences in Kuwait University Asmaa Bastaki and a number of students conducted the study on a random sample of 1,483 Kuwaitis aged 18 to 35 years old. The study also revealed that Americano is the most consumed coffee among Kuwaitis, while the level of individual awareness on nutritional information in coffee products is low.

 

In addition, 13 percent of the respondents go to cafés daily and 30 percent of them visit one to four times monthly, while 26.6 percent of the men and 23.2 percent of women go to cafes from one to six times weekly. Around 51.4 percent of the respondents prefer Starbucks coffee.
