Qatar Amir to visit Pakistan Saturday

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will pay a two-day state visit to Pakistan from Saturday at the invitation of Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan, the official Qatar News Agency has reported.

His Highness the Amir will hold talks with Pakistan's President Dr Arif Alvi and Khan on ways to enhance bilateral relations in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest. During the visit, both parties will sign a number of memorandums of understanding in several fields. An official delegation will accompany the Amir.

A press statement from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued in Doha by the Pakistan embassy Friday, said the visit of His Highness the Amir is expected to further strengthen the close fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar and deepen co-operation in diverse fields. It also recalled that the Amir had earlier visited Pakistan in March 2015.

 

Internews adds: Talking to media on Friday, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Islamabad attaches a great deal of importance to its ties with Doha.

He said Pakistan has immense investment opportunities for Qatari investors in various fields.
