A video of an Overseas Filipino Worker being surprised by her Arab employers with a birthday party made rounds online.
The video featured a Filipina domestic helper who got very emotional after her Arab employers threw a surprise birthday party for her.
When she entered the room, all of her employers flocked together to sing her “Happy Birthday.” They even gave her a cake with candles to blow. The generous Arab employers touched her heart with a simple birthday party.
Many netizens also expressed their appreciation towards the employers, as their simple act of kindness transcended cultural borders.
“Sana lahat mga amo ng ating mga kababayan ay ganyan ang tunay na ugali,” one netizen wrote.
Other netizens also hoped that the video will serve as an inspiration for employers to treat their employees, regardless of race, with kindness and respect.
“Sana rin tumigil na yung mga mapang abusong amo sa panghahamak sa mga kawawang domestic helper na desperado lang magkatrabaho at makapagbigay ng pangangailangan ng pamilya nila sa Pinas,” another netizen added.
