Some Overseas Filipino Workers take provocative things just to ensure that they can stay and work abroad. Some even pursue illegal activities just to get a residency visa. But then, this should never be followed or you will be arrested just like this young Filipina in Japan.

A Filipina was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police after engaging in a bogus marriage in Machida City. Her fake husband was also arrested over the incident.

Masao Kurokawa, 61, and the unidentified Filipina woman, 21, was arrested after they registered fraudulent paperwork for their marriage at the local office. They did it so she can obtain a residency in the country.

The woman allegedly works in the bar and that is where Kurokawa found her. However, reports say that they do not live together.

Following the arrest, Kurokawa admitted to the fraudulent activity they had perpetrated. However, the Filipina woman denied all the allegations. According to her, they were really married but not living together.

Over the years, fake marriages in Japan involving foreign nationals are evidently rising. Moreover, local authorities in Japan are intensifying the campaign to expose these bogus marriages, and falsification of passports and other documents just so they can obtain a foreign registration card.
