Massive Earthquake Kills Fifteen People in the Philippines

A deadly 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the southern Philippines early Monday morning. The powerful tremor hit Sarangani province in Mindanao at 7:37 AM.

Tragic Casualties and Damage

The disaster killed at least 15 people and injured 129 others immediately. Collapsing structures and falling debris caused most of the severe injuries. A massive fast food building collapsed completely in General Santos City.

Rescue Operations Continue

Authorities suspended all government operations and urged coastal residents to seek higher ground. Rescue teams continue digging through the rubble to find trapped survivors today. The region already experienced over 100 strong aftershocks since the initial quake.
