The new crescent of the of the Hijra month "Dhu al-Hijjah 1440 H" will born on the morning of Thursday 29 Dhu al-Qa'da (August 1, 2019) at 06:23 am, Doha local time, which is the day of sighting, according to astronomical calculations by Qatar Calendar House (QCH).

The age of the new crescent of "Dhu al-Hijjah 1440 H" will be 12 hours and 7 minutes at sunset time over Qatar sky on the day of sighting, said Astronomer expert at QCH Dr. Beshir Marzouk.

 

The new crescent will be observed over most of Arabic and Islamic countries sky with astronomical telescopes, and from places without light and environment pollutions on the evening of Thursday, he added.

Therefore, Thursday, August 1, is the end of Dhu al-Qa'da 1440 and Friday, August 2, is the beginning of Dhu al-Hijjah 1440.
