Your Guide to Qatar National Day 2018

Every year on December 18th, people of Qatar celebrate the Qatar National Day.

Qatar National Day 2018 is around the corner, as arrangements achieve their last stages,  there is excitement everywhere. 

 

National Day Organizing Committee 2018 declared that  "As long as it was proven by our deeds", will be the motto of the current year's celebrations.

Qatar Will Remain Free,' a line from the national anthem, will likewise be used for the current year. 

National Day Organizing Committee said that the line ‘As long as it was proven by our deeds’ is a refrain taken from one of the  poems by Qatar’s Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. The great work that builds the country fluctuates from period to time as indicated by the development of its needs, and it is a vital state of its renaissance.

Darb Al Saai

'Darb Al Saai' is by a long shot one of the biggest and most fanticipated events of Qatar National Day.

Facilitating an extensive variety of activities, this celebration 'tent' is open from 12 till 20 December, and is organised by the National Day Committee.

Celebrations at Katara Cultural Village

Katara Cultural Village has arranged 9 days of festivity from 11 Dec to 19 Dec, There will be over 45 events, fireworks,sucical show, an opera performance, parachuting,drawn shows, cultural shows and other spectacular activities. The activities will start from 4 pm to 10 pm at various settings at Katara beach, amphitheater and Katara Corniche.

One of the major events is an opera entitled, 'Citizens and expats- we are one', which is to be performed on 17 and 19 December. Both days will feature two shows at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

A band from the Police Training Institute at the Ministry of Interior will show national music performances, and the Amiri Air Force will participate in the celebrations.

The Bidaya Center will set up a cultural bazar from 11 December to 19 December, including an extensive variety of local items, clothes, perfumes and traditional cuisine. There will likewise be a screening of a narrative film featuring the conjunction between various exile networks in Qatar.
