Saudi Arabia sends CHILLING warning to Iran after missile launch with region close to WAR

Fears of another world war have escalated to new heights after the Kingdom warned: “We will not stand by idly.”

It comes after Saudi Arabia accused Iran of committing an “act of war” when rebels fired a missile at capital Riyadh.

In the Kingdom’s warning during a meeting of Arab League nations, the Saudi foreign minister said “no Arab capital is safe from Iran’s aggression”.

Adel al-Jubeir told leaders at the meeting in Cairo, Egypt: “Showing leniency toward Iran will not leave any Arab capital safe from those ballistic missiles.

“We will not stand idly by in the face of Iran’s aggression.

“Iran created agents in the region, such as the Houthi and Hezbollah militias, in total disregard for all international principles.”

The warning was followed by a statement from the Arab League saying it will not declare war on Iran at the moment.

It read: “We are not declaring war on Iran at this stage.

“We have not taken a decision to ask the Security Council to meet, but we are just briefing the council and maybe the next stage would be for us to meet and call for a Security Council meeting and submit a draft Arab resolution against Iran.”

Saudi has significantly increased its rhetoric against Iran following the latest ballistic missile launch on November 4 from Yemen – claimed to be fired by Iran-backed rebels.

Yemen has become host to a tug-of-war, as Saudi has backed the country’s ousted government with boots on the ground, while Iran offers material support to the country’s Houthi rebels.

Meanwhile Lebanon has also been thrust into the centre of the crisis, with the country home to Iranian-backed terrorist militia Hezbollah.

Hezbollah said on Friday that Saudi Arabia had declared war on Lebanon after the nation was accused of holding its Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri against his will.

The PM resigned while on a visit to Riyadh last Saturday, which was dubbed an "insult" to Lebanon.
