The New York Times posted a video on Saturday detailing the developments leading up to the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. 

Featuring visual evidence that has yet emerged on the case through Turkish media, the video investigates the roles of several members of the 15-person "hit-team" that allegedly committed the murder as well as the Saudi efforts to cover up the issue. 

“There were 15 of them. Most arrived in the dead of night, laid their trap and waited for the target to arrive. That target was Jamal Khashoggi […]” read the video caption, showing the surveillance footages of the Saudi team. 

The video also pointed out the possible involvement of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, who it noted, “many western government officials” think authorized the murder.

Khashoggi, a frequent contributor to The Washington Post, was killed on Oct. 2 inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.

After weeks of denying any involvement in the crime, Saudi Arabia later admitted that Khashoggi had been killed inside the consulate but claimed the Saudi royal family had no prior knowledge of any plot to murder the journalist.

So far, 21 people, including security officers, have been arrested in Saudi Arabia in connection with the murder.
