Saudi Arabia has issued new decree limiting 41 job roles to Saudi men and women in Madinah.
Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, Saudi Minister of Labor and Social Development has issued a decree to limit work in 41 activities, starting from April 7, 2019, for nongovernmental organizations, it will be set up from June 10, 2019, for hospitality and tourism sectors, reported Arab News
Minister declared job types and activities secured under the announcement include: Light-vehicle driver, food service employee,order taker, safety and security officer, telephone operator, data-entry clerk, administrative clerk, secretary, general services supervisor, room service supervisor, tourism programmes supervisor, front office supervisor,maintenance supervisor, sales and marketing supervisor, safety and security supervisor, supervisor of telephone operators, overseer, director of security and safety, acting director, sales and marketing representative, maintenance manager, room service manager, customer service manager, administrative manager, director of tourism programs, director of the front office and director of staff relations.
New Rules, first announced in January, require 70% of sales jobs at outlets selling 12 types of items to be held by Saudis.
The primary stage, which came into power in September, connected to car and motorbike showrooms and shops selling including instant dress for men and kids, home and office furniture, family unit merchandise and utensils.
The second stage, which started on November 9, connected to “electrical and electronic appliances, watches and glasses shops”, ministry said.
While a third stage will come into power from January 7 requiring "medicinal hardware stores, development materials shops, auto save parts shops, carpet shops of all kinds, and confectionery shops” to go along. The decision was intended "to “to enable citizens and women citizens to work and raise their participation rates in the private sector,” Ministry said.
As indicated by reports, the move is expected to influence the Many as 1.22 million expat jobs in Saudi Arabia.
