The Judge Daniels arguing on behalf of the complainants challenged the claims by an attorney of Saudi Arabia. Then he asked: “So Saudi Arabia is responsible for every terrorist act al-Qaeda commits?”
The Commission report found after 9/11 stated that it could not find any evidence that claims that the Saudi government as an institution or senior Saudi officials individually funded the Al-Qaeda.
Attorney Michael Kellogg who was arguing for Saudi Arabia, mentioned the reports repeatedly, along with the results of investigations by the FBI and CIA, and said that all these reports clearly rejected that Saudi Arabia was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.
Rejecting this same case against Saudi Arabia in 2015, Daniels described new statements by the plaintiffs that are entirely conclusory and said “I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do with the report's ultimate conclusion or the facts, whether they're sufficient for this court to independently reach those conclusions.
