Apple’s AirPower Charging Mat could be priced at $199 in the US

In September, Apple launched the 2017-flagship smartphones – iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X with support for wireless charging. It also announced that it would be launching a wireless charging mat called the AirPower. Recently, the AirPower wireless charging mat was spotted on Polish online retailer X-Kom’s website at $270 (Rs 17,400 approximately).

The firm holds over 300 patents relating to wireless charging and is expected to make the feature “ubiquitous” on all Apple devices. There are anticipations made that wireless charging would soon become an important business in Apple’s global operations.

While Apple’s new accessory is expected to be announced sometime next year, iPhone X is all set to make its India debut on November 3. The phone is available in two storage models, the 64GB version is priced at 89,000, while the 256GB model is available at Rs 102,000.
