Nokia 2 with two-day battery life, Google Assistant launched at 99 euros

Nokia 2 by HMD Global has been launched at 99 euros (Rs 7,500 approx). It will hit the shelves starting mid-November. Nokia 2 is one of company’s most affordable Android phone till date. The smartphone will go head to head with Xiaomi’s popular Redmi 4A. The budget phone is priced at Rs 5,999 for the base model. India pricing for Nokia 2 hasn’t been announced by the company.

 

Nokia 2 features a 5-inch LTPS HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It will be made available in three colour variants – Copper Black, Pewter Black, and Pewter White. The smartphone is powered by a Quad-core 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor. It ships with 1GB RAM.

Nokia 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, and the company has confirmed Android 8.0 Oreo update for the phone as well. Nokia 2 gets an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP front shooter. Nokia 2 is among one of the first smartphones in this price category to ship with Google Assistant.

HMD Global, which has the rights to manufacture and distribute Nokia-branded phones, has launched a number of smartphones in the market. In February, it launched the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3  along side the reincarnated version of the Nokia 3310. In August this year, it launched its first-ever flagship Nokia 8 which can be purchased in the Indian market for Rs 36,999.
