OnePlus 5T Leak Gives a Glimpse of Bezel-Less Display

Shortly after the release of first renders, the rumoured OnePlus 5T has now surfaced online in a leaked teaser image that showcases its display panel with minimal bezels. The smartphone is expected to be officially announced sometime in November as an upgraded.version of the OnePlus 5.

The newly leaked image, courtesy Android Authority, is claimed to show the bottom of the OnePlus 5T. The image points to the thin bezels that would enable an 18:9 aspect ratio, seen in recent flagships with bezel-less displays. Further, the image hints at a larger display size than the OnePlus 5, which debuted in June with a 5.5-inch display.

Some recent reports claim that the OnePlus 5T will sport a 6-inch display along with a full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) resolution. Thus, to make space for the large display panel, OnePlus has apparently shifted the fingerprint scanner from the front to the back of the 5T - as spotted in the newest render (and seen in previous leaks).

The leaked image also suggests an aluminium frame with a bottom-positioned speaker on the OnePlus 5T. Additionally, the smartphone is expected to have a slightly higher capacity battery than the 3500mAh pack available on the OnePlus 5.

Folks at Android Authority believe that despite the larger display and higher capacity battery, the OnePlus 5T will have a similar chassis to that of the OnePlus 5. This means that both the OnePlus smartphones will have identical dimensions - even making the new model compatible with accessories designed for the months old OnePlus 5.

That being said, OnePlus is yet to confirm the development of the OnePlus 5T. But a number of rumours and the quality of leaks suggest that an official announcement could soon take place. Moreover, the Shenzhen-based company has already made a history of launching an upgrade of its flagship model with the release of the OnePlus 3T last year.
