5. Katara Cultural Village:
The cultural village is named as Katara because Qatar was historically called Katara before the 18th century. Katara was thrown open to public in the October of 2010 when it hosted the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF), which Katara continues to host till date. Katara is the home to an open amphitheatre, an opera house, galleries and performance venues. The Katara Plaza is also located in the cultural village featuring a number of global retail outlets. Katara is where the grace of the past meets the splendour of the future.
