In India, Solomon Pappaiah (1936 – 14 March 2010) is still remembered by many people. He was a famous Tamil orator, writer, and actor from Tamil Nadu, India, for his distinctive style of oration, which was a combination of humor, satire, and social commentary.

Solomon Pappaiah was born on 22nd June 1936 in Karisalkulam village, Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. He finished his early education in home town and acquired a degree in Tamil literature from St. Xavier's College in Palayamkottai.  After completing his education, he worked as a Tamil teacher briefly. However, he relinquished the job to continue his career in oration and writing. Solomon Pappaiah passed away on 14th March 2010 due to a heart attack. His fans and admirers mourned his death, and he is remembered today as one of the greatest orators and writers in the history of Tamil literature.
