Filipina dies after being hit by car in Dubai

An overseas Filipina worker (OFW) on Thursday, August 23, died after being hit by a vehicle along Dubai-Al Ain Highway in Dubai, the Philippine Embassy in the UAE reported.

 

The unnamed 34-year-old OFW was hit by an approaching vehicle when she stepped out of her own car after one of its tires exploded.

Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Hjayceelyn Quintana said the driver of the vehicle has been apprehended and is currently in police custody.

Quintana added that the OFW’s cousin has been informed of the accident.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has also extended its condolences to the family of the OFW who worked as sales executive in the UAE.

They also assured that necessary help particularly on legal and repatriation assistance will be extended.
