Passenger fined Dh1,900 for carrying an apple through airport customs

Do you like carrying fruit during your long flights to calm your hunger pangs? Clearly, you need to stop doing that.

Crystal Tadlock, traveling on Delta Air Lines from Paris, was given a sealed apple on her flight. Not hungry, she thought of keeping it for her second leg to Denver.

With the apple in her bag, she passed many signs and alert warnings about items that must be declared at the entry port in Minneapolis as per US Customs and Border Protection.

Unfortunately for Crystal, a random check made her trip expensive by $500. "He had asked me if my trip to France was expensive and I said, 'Yeah.' I didn't really get why he was asking that question, and then he said, 'It's about to get a lot more expensive after I charge you $500," Tadlock told Fox31

Crystal was then issued a $500 citation and a revocation of her global entry status.
