Air New Zealand flight Diverted to Adelaide, Man Removed

AN international flight has been diverted to Adelaide after an incident with a passenger.

The Air New Zealand flight was en route from Auckland to Perth when the incident occurred.

The plane was redirected to Adelaide Airport this afternoon, where Australian Federal Police officers removed the passenger.

The Advertiser understands the incident was triggered by a mental health episode and charges are unlikely to be laid.

In September last year, an Emirates jumbo jet flying from Dubai to Brisbane was diverted to Adelaide due to engine problems. Passengers were forced to spend the night sleeping on the floor at the airport.
