Karnataka: 80-min flights between Mysuru and Chennai from 15 Sep

As Karnataka's Mysuru gears up for Dussehra celebrations from 21-30 September, commercial flight operations from the city, suspended in Nov'15, are set to resume on 15 September.

Hyderabad-based carrier TruJet would operate 80-minute flights daily between Mysuru and Chennai accommodating 78 passengers, under the Centre's UDAN scheme.

People can travel the 500km distance by air at Rs. 2,500.

Karnataka's Department of Pre-University Education stated that second-year Pre-University students appearing for PU-II final exams in Mar-Apr'18 could pick either Kannada or English to write the exams. Their decision on the medium must be made before 30 Sep'17. Both the languages were allowed earlier.

When the then Vice-President Hamid Ansari was in Bengaluru on 6 August, an ambulance got stuck near Trinity Circle due to the traffic regulations.

Noticing the ambulance, two cops, Head Constable Hucheera Naik and Inspector Yogesh Sarje, allowed the ambulance to pass ahead of the convoy, saving a life.

On 1 September, Bengaluru's Hosmat Hospital awarded them to acknowledge their Good Samaritan deed.

Three ministers inducted to cabinet; likely final reshuffle before polls

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah inducted three ministers into the Cabinet, including Dalit MLC RB Thimmapur, ahead of 2018 polls.

By inducting Thimmapur, Siddaramiah attempts to please Left Dalits or Madigas, a section of backward Dalits, who feel oppressed by Right Dalits.

The other two inducted ministers were Siddaramiah's close aide HM Revanna of Kuruba community, and Geetha Mahadeva Prasad, former minister HS Mahadeva Prasad's widow.
